ARTICLE I: NAME, MISSION, AND VISION
Section 1.1 Name: Sin City Fire Department Sports ("Sin City FD Sports")
Section 1.2 Mission: To support the mental health, social connection, and overall wellbeing of firefighters and their families in the Las Vegas Valley through sports, clubs, peer support, and educational initiatives, providing access to confidential care and wellness resources.
Section 1.3 Vision: A resilient, healthy, and connected firefighter community where every member and their family can access confidential mental health support and thrive through camaraderie, education, sport, and club activities.
Section 1.4 Principal Office: Clark County, Nevada
Section 1.5 Fiscal Year: January 1 - December 31
ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP
Section 2.1 Eligibility:
Primary Membership: Active and retired firefighters from Clark County, Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Boulder City Fire Departments
Secondary Membership: Temporary/event-specific for police, EMS, dispatch, and military
Section 2.2 Good Standing: Members must maintain professional conduct, participate in activities, follow organizational policies, and positively represent the Organization.
Section 2.3 Team and Club Composition: Active firefighters have priority. Teams must maintain at least 75% firefighter composition.
Section 2.4 Mental Health Services Eligibility: All primary and secondary members and their immediate families are eligible for confidential mental health and wellness resources.
Section 2.5 Non-Discrimination: The Organization does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, mental health status, or any protected category.
ARTICLE VI: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Section 6.1 Oversight: Board fiduciary responsibility, annual budget approval, regular reporting. President may authorize expenses up to $5,000; two signatures required for expenses over $5,000.
Section 6.2 Tournament, Club, and Program Funding: Registration fees, travel, and lodging may be covered as approved.
Section 6.3 Mental Health Program Funding: Portion of annual budget allocated to mental health/peer support programs.
Section 6.4 Document Retention: All required records retained for minimum of 7 years.
ARTICLE VII: PROGRAMS
Section 7.1 Programs: Sports teams, clubs, wellness groups, and other member-driven initiatives.
Section 7.2 Club Formation: Members may propose new clubs with written proposal to the board.
Section 7.3 Club Leadership: Each club may appoint a club leader subject to board approval.
Section 7.4 Funding: Clubs may request funding subject to same requirements as sports teams.
Section 7.5 Sports and Wellness Programs: Organize sports, educational, and wellness initiatives.
Section 7.6 Mental Health and Peer Support: Provide confidential mental health services, peer support groups, and educational workshops.
ARTICLE VIII: TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Section 8.1 Records Maintenance: Maintain all required records with strict confidentiality.
Section 8.2 Whistleblower Protection: Confidential reporting and no retaliation for reporting concerns.
Section 8.3 Code of Conduct: All members and board must comply with Code of Conduct, including mental health confidentiality and respect.
Section 8.4 Conflict of Interest: Annual disclosure, recusal, and documentation required.
Section 8.5 Member Discipline: Members may be suspended or terminated for cause, following written notice and opportunity to be heard.
ARTICLE IX: INDEMNIFICATION AND LIABILITY
Section 9.1 Participant Liability: All participants must sign waivers acknowledging voluntary participation, risks, and personal responsibility.
Section 9.2 Organization Insurance: Maintain required board and event liability insurance.
Section 9.3 Limitations: Organization is not liable for injuries, illnesses, property damage, or losses sustained during events.
Section 9.4 Succession Planning: Vice President shall serve as Acting President if vacancy occurs.
Section 9.5 Emergency Powers: Board may suspend normal procedures in emergencies.
Section 9.6 Intellectual Property: All logos, trademarks, and content remain exclusive property of the organization.
